October 06, 2026
Toronto; October XX, 2026: Asian Television Network International Limited (ATN) (TSX-V-SAT), Canada’s largest South Asian broadcaster and pioneer broadcaster of cricket is pleased to announce that it has acquired the Canadian broadcast rights to the National Cricket League GT20 (NCLGT20), bringing the exciting new T20 cricket league to audiences across Canada.
The NCLGT20 features some of the biggest names in international cricket, combining established cricket legends with leading international and emerging talent in a fast-paced T20 format.
Through this agreement, ATN will air live coverage of NCLGT20 matches across its sports channels in Canada, making the tournament accessible to cricket fans across the country.
“We are delighted to bring a lot more exciting Live Cricket to the Canadian audiences,” said Dr. Shan Chandrasekar, President and CEO of ATN. “Cricket continues to be one of the most important sports for Canada’s Commonwealth Communities, and ATN is committed to bringing our viewers the best cricket from around the world. NCLGT20 provides an exciting new platform featuring some of the most recognizable names in the game, and we look forward to making this tournament available to cricket fans throughout Canada.”
The NCL GT20 Canada tournament has formed a historic partnership with Cricket West Indies (CWI) to host its 2026 season in the Caribbean. The professional T20 franchise tournament will take place in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from October 23 to November 1, 2026, before returning to Canada for its 2027. Organized in direct collaboration with Cricket Canada and CWI, the temporary relocation aims to strengthen cricketing, developmental, and commercial links between North America and the Caribbean.
Chris Dehring, Chief Executive Officer of Cricket West Indies, said: "NCL GT20 Canada, together with the deep cricketing tradition of the West Indies, creates an exciting opportunity for collaboration. Hosting the 2026 tournament in the Caribbean before its return to Canada next year marks the beginning of a partnership that can facilitate the continued development of Canadian cricket while showcasing our region as one of the great cricketing regions of world cricket. As the only full member of the ICC in the hemisphere, we believe it is important to forge mutually beneficial relationships with ICC Associate Members across the region, for the health of the game and, indeed, for the continued development of West Indies cricket."
“Every ball, every six, every wicket — live, coast to coast,” said Malini Basu, Chief Global Communications Officer for NCL GT20. “This league was built for Canada, and with cricket headed to the 2028 Olympics, Canadian fans deserve a front-row seat to the players who will shape the sport’s next chapter. We’re excited to work with ATN to bring NCL GT20 to cricket fans across Canada” she added.
All the 18 NCLGT20 matches will be available LIVE across Canada on ATN Cricket Plus, CBN, & ATN Sports.
Adding to the NCLGT20 lineup, ATN will also air the New Zealand vs. India series LIVE from October 22 through November 30, 2026. The highly anticipated series will feature: 5 - T20 Internationals, 5 - One-Day Internationals (ODIs) & 2 - Test Matches. The 12-match series will showcase two of the world's leading cricket nations competing across all three formats of the game.
